Backcountry Skiing

Tahoe Mountain School offers backcountry skiing courses and ski guided adventures. Our backcountry skiing courses focus on hands on learning and instruction for either skier or splitboarder from beginner to advanced. We also offer backcountry ski tours and ski mountaineering adventures throughout the Tahoe/Truckee region. We also offer private guided instruction for all levels of ability.

 Intro to Backcountry-$199. Apr 26

This 1 day outdoor course is designed for people who have ski resort experience and want to get into backcountry skiing and splitboarding away from the crowds. It's a hands on course covering how to use backcountry specific gear including; avalanche rescue equipment, backcountry ski and splitboard bindings and skins, managing specific gear and transitions, along with uphill and downhill techniques and skills. After getting geared up at the store, the course is entirely in the field.
